Nashville City Mashup

Seth Gardner | | 23 May 2007

There’s a new mashup in town and it’s starting out in two cities, Nashville and Atlanta .

The main premise of a mashup is to bring together the best all around content from new and blog sources to one place. For example, Nashville City Mashup not only pulls in news and blog entries, it also showcases Flickr images and YouTube videos that have been tagged with Nashville.

Rare Website Goes For Sale On Auction Site

Seth Gardner | | 22 April 2007

Most websites that are being sold today are junk sites with questionable traffic. That’s what makes this auction so unique. FamilyResource.com has been put on auction and is positioned as the “golden egg” of website auctions. The auction includes a site that’s 11-years-old, has one of the highest AdSense click through rates in the industry, and even comes with lifetime hosting.

Goowy - Envisioning the WebOS

Seth Gardner | | 24 January 2007

Goowy, Google, Goowy, Google. Oh it’s only a matter of time until Google buys them — and they only have to change two letters.

Goowy is an incredibly slick version of a Web based operating system (OS). It does mail, instant messaging, file storage, and now support widgets.

Here’s why Goowy thinks you should use Goowy:

Because it gives you everything you need in a fresh, simple package, including an instant messenger that lets you chat with your buddies from any network, powerful e-mail, contacts & calendar, customized news, rss, minis, file storage, sharing & finally some fun games when you just want to relax.

I’m not ready to take such a leap, but it’s definitely fun to play around with .

gCommons - Get the Most Tubes from the Internets

Seth Gardner | | 20 January 2007

There are usually two places I go when I want to buy something, Google and Amazon.com. gCommons combines those two things into one. I can search on anything and then get a page of relevant Google Adsense ads and Amazon.com products.

For example, I was able to make the following pages on the fly for products I was interested in buying:

Shorten Your URIs

Seth Gardner | | 17 January 2007

Long URIs (or URLs) have the tendency to break in email messages. To combat this, TinyURL was created. TinyURL shortens any Web address to a small link that won’t break in email messages.

TinyURL is a great service, but urlx is even better. url(x) is an AJAX powered URI shortener that is slick and fun to use.
